Sunday 17th June - Pilgrims arrive at Craig Lodge

On Sunday afternoon pilgrims arrive at Craig Lodge Family House of Prayer, Dalmally.  This gives everyone time to get to know each other and discuss the week ahead.  After dinner there will be a short talk then it's an early night ahead of tomorrow's long walk!

Monday 18th June - Dalmally to Taynuilt

On Monday morning the pilgrims set off along Stronmilchan before making the ascent over into Glen Noe.  Skirting along the banks of Loch Etive pilgrims will then arrive in Taynuilt.  Here the support vehicles will transport everyone back to Craig Lodge.

Tuesday 19th June - Taynuilt to Craignure (Isle of Mull)

The support vehicles will drop the pilgrims off at Taynuilt to pick up from where they left off on Monday.  Today, it is a walk through the beautiful Glen Lonan enroute to Oban where a ferry ride over to Mull awaits.

Wednesday 20th June - Craignure to Pennyghael/Carsaig

There are two options available from this point, both spectacular!  One route follows the main road through Glen More to Pennyghael and the other along the south coast via Lochbuie to Carsaig, the route taken will depend on weather conditions and the group's ability.  Arriving at the destination the support vehicles will transport everyone back to the Craignure Bunkhouse.

Thursday 21st June - Pennyghael/Carsaig to Bunessan

The support vehicles will drop pilgrims of at either Pennyghael or Carsaig to pick up from where they left off on Wednesday.  Again there are two possible routes, one following the road along the banks of Loch Scridain to Bunessan; and the other over Malcolm's Point and via Scoor enroute to Bunessan.

Friday 22nd June - Bunessan to Iona

Almost there!!  A short walk now to Fionnphort to catch a morning ferry across the Sound of Iona to the Isle of Iona.  Landing on Iona the pilgrimage will continue onwards to St. Columba's Bay where St.Columba first set foot on Iona 1,456 years ago!  Then, once settled into the Iona Bunkhouse, pilgrims are free to explore the island.

Saturday 23rd June - Iona

 

Settled into the Iona Bunkhouse pilgrims are free to explore the island or rest there weary feet in the beautiful grounds that surround the bunkhouse.  In the evening a vigil mass will be held in the Iona Catholic Prayer House followed by a celebratory meal in the Martyr's Bay Restaurant!


Accommodation:  Iona Bunkhouse (Breakfast & lunch provided; dinner in the Martyr's Bay Restaurant)


The pilgrimage guides and helpers will depart on Sunday morning for Craig Lodge, pilgrims wishing to return to Craig Lodge can do so at this time.  Alternatively pilgrims can make their own homeward travel arrangements.

Cost: £475 pp

The cost includes all accommodation, meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner (excludes Martyr's Bay Restaurant) - and return ferry tickets.  Support vehicles will be provided to transfer pilgrims and their belongings throughout the week and a minimum of two guides will be walking with the group at anytime.
