Take the ferry from Iona to Fionnphort
Mull main road route- A849 -
Fionnaphort to Craignure - 36 mile (68km)
Follow the A849 road all the way from Fionnphort to Craignure passing through Bunessan and Pennyghael.
Walk along the A849 road from Fionnphort to Bunessan for 6 miles.
On leaving Bunessan after 1/2 mile take the road at the top of the hill on the right to Scoor and Loch Assapol, walk along the road for approx 2 mile/ 3km and turn left to the forestry track near the end of Loch Assapol.
At the end of the forestry track approx 3 miles/5km, veer left and head through the gaps in the trees, then slightly right and straight through on to the open hillside.
Veer right and head for the cliff's above Malcolm's point, then continue above the cliff's all the way to the Pennyghael- Carsaig road (532229). Then turn right down to Carsaig.
Alternatively you can drop down to the coast at the Nun's pass (523203) via the Nun's cave (524205) and continue along the coast to Carsiag. Then follow the coastal track to Lochbuie. After which you take the road until you reach the A849 then turn right at the junction to Carsaig.
Take the ferry from Craignure to Oban, After leaving the ferry take a right on to Station road. Go straight ahead at Argyll Square on to the A85 to Combie Street, then turn left on to Glencruitten Road.
After a few miles just beyond Claremont Lane on your left go right at the junction. Follow the road passing Luachrach Loch and Glencruitten House until you reach the T junction at Barranrioch farm, turn right and further along the road for a short time then turn left at the next junction on to the Glen Lonan road which takes you all the way to Tauynuilt.
Cross the A85 road at the crossroads and take the B845 road through Taynuilt village passing shops and walking over the railway bridge until you get to Lochandhu road. Follow Lochandhu road passing Bonawe House on your left. Once you get near the end of the track turn left (not right) heading through the fields crossing the bridge over the river to Inverawe Smokery.
Once through the car park at Inverawe Smokery turn right heading up the road and turn left at the next junction heading all the way through the forest along Loch Etive to Glen Noe farm. Turn in to Glen Noe farm taking the track up the left hand side of river. Head up the hill until the track fades away and veer left along the contour until you reach the road track and then a small bridge. From the bridge head straight up the hill to the Lairig Noe pass and down the other side to the road track all the way to Castles Farm.
Go right at the end of this track at Castles farm along to the Stronmlichan Road (B8077), turn left heading along the Stronmilchan road passing over the river strae until you reach the bridge which crosses the river Orchy. Do not cross the bridge but carry straight on until you reach Craig Lodge Family House of Prayer.
